Production has officially concluded on Mint Jelly, the upcoming sci-fi mob noir from director and star Retro Myrtle Beach Guy. The film is produced by Speinsted and Ederpt through their development wing, New Town Movie Picture Group, and is scheduled to premiere in October 2025.
Radioactive Tiki stars as Ignacio Lagorio, an ambitious reptilian crime boss navigating the ranks of intergalactic organized crime. Retro Myrtle Beach Guy co-stars as Rocco Draconi, Lagorio’s dull-witted but dangerous muscle. The film marks the second feature collaboration between the two, following Retro Myrtle Beach Guy: The Movie (2023).
Filming took place across several Myrtle Beach landmarks, including Family Kingdom, Broadway at the Beach, and a local mid-century motel. These locations contribute to the film’s low-budget, grindhouse aesthetic and regional texture.
Mint Jelly follows a small-time bookie and his enforcer as they attempt to climb the ladder of intergalactic organized crime. The film continues the director’s commitment to Myrtle Beach-based storytelling, blending genre elements with local culture.
Distribution is expected through Speinsted and Ederpt Productions and affiliated platforms. Promotional efforts are underway, with additional content featuring Radioactive Tiki and Retro Myrtle Beach Guy available on their respective channels.
