At first glance, Four Way Fuel in Conway, South Carolina looks like your standard gas station—lottery tickets, cigarettes, and hot dogs on the roller grill. But tucked beside the counter is a culinary surprise that’s turning heads and tantalizing taste buds: homemade Indian food crafted by Lovey Vaid, a professionally trained chef with roots in New York City’s restaurant scene.
Lovey and his wife Laxmi have run Four Way Fuel for over a decade, but recently decided to spice things up. Now, a few times a week, locals can feast on dishes like butter chicken, tandoori fried chicken, samosas topped with chana masala, and wraps that fuse Southern comfort with Indian flair. Lovey makes his own spice blends from scratch, toasting and grinding whole cumin seeds into fragrant garam masala that elevates every bite.
Retro Myrtle Beach Guy features the spot in his latest video, diving fork-first into Lovey’s creations and was amazed!
Four Way Fuel proves that great food doesn’t need white tablecloths or ocean views. Sometimes, it’s waiting for you next to the gas pump, wrapped in naan and bursting with heart.
