Last Saturday night, Myrtle Beach got loud. Not tourist-trap karaoke loud—real loud. Cherry Vanilla, the city’s rising punk powerhouse, dropped their new EP Crack It Open at Fresh Brewed Coffee House, to an excited crowd. Hosted by local punk music and culture outlet Denounce Normalcy, the all-ages release show drew over 100 fans, many of whom came specifically to snag the CD. But the real story? This might be the start of a full-blown Myrtle Beach punk renaissance.
